The client, a current wildland firefighter, wanted to create an informational space for likeminded outdoor adventurers to learn about wilderness safety.

Branding

first revisions

the first option is more literal as it depicts the character of Asclepius, but is still abstracted from the snake and rod people are used to seeing. Because of this abstraction, having a more telling tagline that mentions the brand’s purpose or "product" is necessary.

A more abstract take on the snake and rod. The snake is wrapping around the redwood (representing the rod), which is indigenous to Northern California. The tittle already had a nice diamond shape, so I used that as the basis of the logo shape.

Using the snake as the border also allows for more detail in the snake.

A compass can symbolize direction
and knowledge, which fits well with the goal of Asklepios. The arrowheads incorporate the snake by mimicking the shape of the snake’s head.
